Holiday Gift Guide For Her Under $50

Good morning!

1 |  J. Crew Striped Cape Scarf

I just ordered this in navy and I can’t wait until it comes in!  It’s versatile, chic, and looks so cozy- any excuse to basically wear a blanket in public right?  Being that it’s one size fits all (aka no guess work on sizing), this would make the perfect gift for the girls in your life- your bestie, your girlfriend or wife, aunts or cousins, even grandma! It’s a classic and timeless piece that transcends age.

2 | Anthropologie Candle

This candle is not only beautiful but it smells amazing.  Candles have such a special way of making any space feel warm and inviting.

3 | J. Crew Ribbed Beanie

I also just ordered this in the color vintage champagne.  It looks like that color sold out online but they still have it in heather graphite and black.  I love the ribbed knitting and cute faux fur pom pom detail!  Who doesn’t love a cute beanie to stay warm in the winter?

4 | Gold Hair Tie Bracelet

This bracelet prevents hair ties from leaving that uncomfortable mark around your wrist and transforms them into a stylish bracelet!  I love the gold color and I would pair it with a black hair tie.  You can also get it custom engraved for an extra $10.  This would make the best stocking stuffer!

5 | 25 oz. Swell Bottle

I absolutely love my swell bottle!  Two of my best friends gifted it to me for my birthday and I use it every day now.  I mostly use it to keep my drinks cold (24 hours of cold!!) but it keeps drinks hot as well.  Bonus- the 25 oz. will hold an entire bottle of wine 😉  Think- happy hour beverages on the beach in the Summer.  Cheers!

I own and love these earrings.  They are the perfect neutral accessory that pair well with any outfit. If you want try the statement earring trend but are a little nervous if it’s for you, these are a great start.

One of my girlfriends gifted me this mug a few years ago and I probably use it the most out of any I own.  The shape is perfect- my mom and I fight over it.  Not to mention the patterns are so cute, it’s personalized, and it’s on sale for only $5.00!  Such a steal.

9 | Converse Sneakers

These sneakers are the best.  They pair well with any casual outfit and the elastic ankle makes them easy to slip on an off.  I love mine and wear them all the time!

10 | Tarte Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette 

I ordered this palette during Tarte’s Cyber Monday deal and I am so excited for it to come in!  I currently use Urban Decay’s Naked Palette (which I love) but I’m ready for a change.  This has a nice variety of matte and shimmery neutral colors.  You can’t go wrong gifting this to the girls in your life!

If you guys aren’t yet convinced that these are the best pants you’ll ever own, here it goes.  They are as soft as butter, available in all sizes in two colors, and are under $17!  I own them in grey and I sized up to a medium because I mostly wear them to lounge and sleep in so I wanted them to be loose and cozy.  I wear them so much that my boyfriend Mark asked if I ever wash them- the answer by the way is yes, but I have considered ordering a second pair to have on backup while the others are in the wash.  Yes, they are that good.

I love this simple, delicate, necklace.  It’s gold, which I love, and comes on a card with a positive message.  It would make a perfect, thoughtful gift for your girlfriend or bestie!

A Gift Guide For The Host/Hostess

It’s Black Friday- the official kickoff of the season of giving!  This gift guide is perfect for the host/hostesses of your holiday parties, your in-laws or the parents of your significant other, secret santa events, families, or that person who you aren’t quite sure what to gift.  Happy shopping 🙂


1 | Bay Leaf Wreath

This is one of my favorites to gift to the families I babysit for.  I have also gifted it to my boyfriend Mark’s parents and it has been a big hit with everyone!  It adds a touch of minimalist greenery to cheer up any space, but isn’t Christmas-y so it can be enjoyed well after the holiday season or by those who don’t celebrate Christmas.

2 | Marble Cutting Board

I love the simple and clean look of marble.   Throw a festive bow on it and you have yourself a beautiful gift any host/hostess would appreciate.

3 | Pinstripe Apron

This is the perfect gift for the host/hostess that loves to cook or bake.  I love how simple the pinstripe is- it comes in a variety of colors and can be emboridered with up to 9 characters to add a personal touch.  Who wouldn’t love a monogrammed apron?

I just picked up this candle from Target and it smells amazing.  I think gifting candles can be tricky sometimes because everyone has such a subjective preference for smell, but this has a clean, holiday scent that isn’t overpowering but makes any room feel cozy.  The red jar makes it even more perfect for the holiday season!

My Bestie’s Bridal Shower

Hi all!  If you have been following along my blogging journey, you’ll likely know that one of my best friends is getting married in December!  I wrote a post here with all of the bachelorette weekend details if you are interested in checking that out.  For this week’s post, I wanted to share all of the fun bridal shower details- lots of photos, the games we played, and where to purchase most of the decor.


 | Location |

The Chart House, Weehawken, NJ.  Stunning views of the NYC skyline and the Hudson River.

| Menu |

Prior to the main course, we helped ourselves to a table with fresh bagels, muffins, croissants, cheese, and fruit.  Mimosas and champagne were served throughout the shower.  Lunch was served buffet style- french toast, sausage, bacon, eggs benedict, chopped salad, eggplant parm, and a make-your-own omelet bar.  Dessert was a red velvet cake, fruit, assorted cookies, and raspberry macaroons.  YUM!  The cake, cookies, and macaroons were from the Hudson Cakery.  Everything was delicious.

| Theme |

All of the framed signs, the photo prop, and invites were a beautiful floral pattern.  These were printed at Staples but the file is from the Etsy shop CreativeUnionDesign.  The color scheme was pink, pops of green from the greenery, and rose gold.

Registry |

The bride and groom registered at Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and Amazon.

| Entertainment |

Bride or Groom? We played a game to see who knows the bride and groom best- the MOB asked guests a list of questions and we held up pictures of either the bride or the groom, depending on who we thought it was.  Example questions- who’s the better skier, who went on an African safari, who was 9 lbs. at birth?  She told us the answers when everyone held up a picture, and if you got the question wrong, you sat down.  The last person/people standing won a prize.  This was so much fun!

Registry Bingo.  Items that the bride registered for were typed up onto bingo cards.  As the bride opened gifts, guests marked off the item on their bingo card.  Prizes for winners to both games were oil and vinegar from a gourmet cheese shop in the bride’s home town- Fourchette.

In addition to these two games, guests were asked to write down fun date night ideas, favorite recipes, and guess how many hershey kisses in a jar.  Two games was the perfect amount of structured fun for a 4-hour shower!

This post was special for me to write because I love being able to document these sweet details of my best friend’s journey to wifehood.  The bride and her mom did a beautiful job planning this shower and I am so thankful to have been a part of it.  Hope you all have a fabulous week! xx
